I'm taking my wife and 2 teenage daughters to disney. We're staying at a Disney Hotel. We like different attractions. Do each of us need a my disney account to manage the attractions we want to ride?

Hey howdy hey Michael and welcome to planDisney!

It has been so much fun going to Walt Disney World Resort with my three girls and seeing just how different their preferences for attractions are. My older one really enjoys the theming and stories behind the attractions while my middle daughter absolutely loves the thrill rides. Like you, not everyone is always happy doing the one they don't like, so at times we do split up to ride different attractions.  With the My Disney Experience app, it makes it so much easier to navigate the parks and different attractions both together as a family as well as if we do need to split our party for separate attractions. While it is not necessary to have separate accounts for everyone in the party, it would be good to have a couple of different ones.

This really comes into play with the purchase of Genie+ or Individual Lightning Lane reservations. If your party wanted to split up for a couple of different experiences, it might be beneficial to have at least two separate accounts so each could manage the separate smaller parties individually. The great part about My Disney Experience is that you can have only one person making the plans for everyone or you can separate the party and have separate leaders for the smaller parties.

We really have loved to experience Walt Disney World as our family grows and the best part is how flexible the technology has been. So many options from how we navigate the parks and resorts that it has been so easy to manage. I hope with your transition touring the parks with your family and their different interests you find this process fun and enjoyable. If you have any further questions let us know!

    Happy planning,
