Well ahoy there Amy, I'd like to wish you a warm welcome back aboard planDisney!
I am so glad to hear that you're embarking on the
14-Night Halloween on the High Seas Westbound Panama Canal Cruise from Miami ending in San Diego this year, as I am personally a huge fan of longer itineraries and all of the extra activities and connections that you may only find on these lengthier journeys. What sets a two-week voyage (or longer) apart from the rest is the flexibility that the Cruise Director and Entertainment team has to put together moments that you won't find across the fleet on the standard, shorter jaunts in the Caribbean which also includes the possibility for uniquely-themed evening events. (Though never guaranteed and subject to availability, in the past I've attended Pajama parties and even themed Adults-Only takeovers of the
Youth Spaces that are a lot of fun on long voyages!)
Here's a glimpse of what I can see behind the scenes as to what's currently scheduled for the
Disney Magic as it traverses the
Panama Canal:
- Most of the evenings have a suggested attire of Cruise Casual, with the exception of Friday, October 6 and Thursday, October 12 which are your suggested Formal and Semi-Formal Nights, respectively.
- The following Sea Day features Optional Pirate Attire on Friday, October 13, which would indicate the appropriate time to celebrate Pirate Night on board. (Personally I feel like this was a missed opportunity for Halloween festivities on Friday the 13th!)
- Nevertheless, the suggested Halloween or Optional Dress Up evening is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 15 ahead of your day ashore in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Typically on voyages celebrating the spooky season you can expect some special moments featuring our favorite Disney Character friends dressed in their Halloween best, along with some exclusive appearances at sea as part of Halloween on the High Seas.
As with anything on board, offerings and scheduled dates or times are subject to change without prior notice and may be affected by any deviations to the ship's itinerary that can affect where, when or whether fireworks may be launched; I always recommend
downloading the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App and refreshing it as soon as you board for the most up-to-date look at what's in store for your sailing. If you haven't sailed on her before, be sure to check out the
planDisney Pocket Guide to the Disney Magic and get a glimpse at what makes the oldest sister in the fleet so special! I hope you come back to planDisney again
for another dose of nautical knowledge ahead of your upcoming adventures!
Here's to celebrating in style as you travel between oceans this year!
