I'm taking my two daughters (6) and (3) for their first Disney visit. We'll be celebrating their birthdays. I'm having a hard time getting reservations at any of the Magic Kingdom restaurants. Any advice on where to go and how to get in?

Hi, Kimberly! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Let's get to work planning those very important birthday celebrations!

Your lucky little princesses are going to have such a magical time celebrating at the Walt Disney World Resort. First things first: be sure to pick up celebration buttons for each of them when you arrive at the Magic Kingdom Park. You'll find them at any Guest Relations location and at most of the retail shops in the Theme Park. Cast Members will write their names and ages on the buttons, and your birthday girls will love all the warm wishes they get all day!

Now - those all-important dining reservations. If you're having trouble booking the most popular Magic Kingdom spots like Be Our Guest Restaurant or Cinderella's Royal Table, you can try a couple of different strategies.

First, keep checking. Guests can cancel dining reservations up to 24 hours in advance, so there's always a chance a table will open up at the last minute. You never know when a little pixie dust will come your way.

Next, think outside the Park! There are some wonderful experiences just a monorail ride away, like 1900 Park Fare at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Chef Mickey's in Disney's Contemporary Resort, or 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. They're all so much fun, and you can always head back to the Magic Kingdom afterwards if you like.

I just know your little ones will have a magical birthday at Walt Disney World, Kimberly, and I hope you'll visit us again if you have any more questions.

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
