    Hi, I'm taking my son to Disney World for his 11th birthday and want to take him for a special breakfast or dinner. Are they any recommendations for a very picky kid who has nut allergies? Also any special things to make his day great?

    Hi Tracy!

    My son has multiple food allergies, so I know how challenging it can be to enjoy celebration meals while accommodating special diets. Since your son is a picky eater, I talked with a few of my fellow Panelists who accommodate particular palates and I've combined their ideas with my food allergy recommendations to give you some good options for your son's birthday.

    A great restaurant for his birthday is Whispering Canyon Cafe because whether you enjoy breakfast or dinner, it has tasty food options for everyone in the family, large portions and fun Cast Members. Another fun and unique option is Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant. The dinner menu here features classics, such as steak and burgers, and can you dine in car-shaped booths at a drive-in "theater"! When accommodating your son's allergy, be sure to add it to your dining reservation and ask to speak to the Chef when you order to help your son find meals that he can safely eat and that he's excited to enjoy.

    To make your son's celebration extra special, be sure to pick up a complimentary birthday button from any Guest Relations location or Disney Resort hotel front desk and add his celebration to your dining reservation by calling (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463. And for even more magic, consider planning a Special Tour to enjoy with your son, such as Wild Africa Trek!
