I'm taking my son on a Disney Cruise in July. He is allergic to gluten. I know they'll be able to accomodate his gluten allergy on the ship, but will they also have gluten-free food available at Castaway Cay and on shore excursions that provide food?

Please fill out the Medical Information form to alert the staff of your son’s allergy. Once aboard the ship, you can meet with a member of the Food and Beverage staff to go over your son's menu.

If you have further questions about Castaway Cay or shore excursions, I would suggest calling the Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 . This call will help to insure that DCL has the items that you will need as well as inform you as to what items that you might want to bring with you.

Guests can be served plated meals on Castaway Cay to accommodate a special diet. For instance, one guest was given salmon with roasted vegetables. With advance notice, DCL is wonderful about accommodating guests with food allergies or other special dietary needs.

Many guests with special diets make an effort to return to the ship for meals or schedule shore excursions so they do not overlap with meal times. You may also bring unopened gluten free food with you so that your son has an appropriate snack while off the ship. When you call DCL, inquire as to how your son's meals can be accommodated during any shore excursions that you might be taking while in port.

    Have a magical voyage!
