I'm taking my 2 shorties to Disney this summer. My son (10) isn't a fan of roller coasters, and says he's too old for Disney. Daughter (8) likes it all. Besides the Dells, this is our first vacation. How can we have the best time with little whining? ;)

    Hi Marcy!

Oh, don't tell him I said, but your son is NOT too old for Disney! There are SO many great (non-roller coaster) attractions that are not remotely baby-ish. In fact, I think I like Disney World better as an adult! :)

One tip is to get a Disney Guide book (I have The Complete Walt Disney World) and let him look through it, pick out stuff that interests him and let him help you plan the MUST-DOs!

Do you have the Planning DVD? You can order it for free and there is usually a really fun section for kids his age. That might get him a little excited, too.

I think the best thing for no-whining is to be prepared. Know where you're going and what to expect. You don't need to plan your day down to the minute, but pick some must-sees and make sure those get done. Then everything else will be sugar on top!

If you have any specific questions, please let me know. I'd love to talk more!
