Hi there! I’m taking my niece and her best friend to Disneyland April 4-7. I have the enchant key but my niece has the imagine key. How do I book her for the 3rd day so that she is able to go with us since we are traveling together?

    Hello, Sophia!

Ooh! I know just what you mean. I had a similar circumstance during our visit in December. We were in Southern California for a couple of weeks and wanted to visit the theme parks for eight total days. I’ll share with you our secrets for making theme park reservations for more days than can be booked at a time for a Magic Key.

When a Magic Key holder wants to visit the Disneyland Resort for more days than can be reserved at a time for their level of pass, start with making as many reservations as possible. Obviously, book a theme park reservation for the first day of your visit. Then prioritize other dates to reserve. You might choose dates that appear more likely to run out of reservations first or dates that are particularly important to you, such as a birthday, anniversary, or another special occasion.

As your visit draws near, keep an eye on the Magic Key Access Calendar and even the theme park reservation availability calendar for regular tickets. If reservations appear to be running out for your intended dates, consider adjusting your priorities accordingly. When the time comes to finally enter the theme parks, a maxed-out Magic Key pass will be eligible to book a new theme park reservation as soon as it is used to scan into a theme park. At that time, use the Disneyland mobile app or the Disneyland Resort website to access the "My Theme Park Reservations" page to book an additional theme park reservation. Day by day during your visit, keep adding new reservations until you have booked all the days you would like to visit the theme parks.

Should you find that theme park reservations aren’t available for the park you want for a given date, consider choosing the other park if available, possibly switching existing reservations already made with other Magic Key passes or theme park tickets. Then keep an eye on the Magic Key Access Calendar. It is very common for other Magic Key holders to change their plans. So their canceled reservations will become available for others to book.

Tony’s Tip: During our visit in December, some of the days we desired to visit included very popular days during the holidays. I’ll be honest and admit that we were very nervous that reservations would run out for those dates. We were sure to prioritize booking them sooner than later. We also went a step further to ensure we could get reservations for some dates by booking a couple of nights at a Disneyland Resort Hotel. On-site hotel Guests have access to theme park reservations set aside for them.

I hope that gives you a path forward for making additional park reservations for your niece. Book those reservations as soon as you enter the parks each morning. And good luck!

    Have a magical time, Sophia!
