I'm taking my mom to Disney for the first time. She's undergoing cancer treatments and doesn't always feel like eating. I've made reservations for a few character meals... will she have to pay full price even if she doesn't eat?

    Dear Katy,

Thank you so much for reaching out to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

First of all, let me say that I am so sorry that your family is going through this difficult time, but I think a prescription for some Disney magic might be just what the doctor ordered!

Because character meals are about not only the meal itself but also about the experience and interactions, each person who attends the meal must pay for their meal, whether they eat or not. If she does feel like eating but just can't find something that really appeals to her, you should feel free to speak with a server or other Cast Member and tell them her specific needs. They may be able to assist you to find something that does appeal to her a bit.

Also, you should be aware of the services that Walt Disney World Resort offers to guests with disabilities. Your mother might be more comfortable if she doesn't have to wait in long lines in the heat, and there are additional services that might work for her as well.

Hope that helps with your magical planning!
