I’m taking my family on a vacation to Disney on December 28 thru January 4,2023. I would like to see the fireworks show on New Year’s, how do I go about seeing it?

    Hiya, Rosemarie. Welcome to planDisney

I can't think of a better way to kick off a new year, Rosemarie. A trip to Walt Disney World is certainly going to start 2023 off right for you and your family. That's going to be so much fun!

To see the fireworks on New Year's Eve, you have a few options. If you are going to be at Magic Kingdom Park that day, they actually are doing two fireworks displays that night. The first is going to go off at 6:30 p.m. and then again at 11:50 p.m. All you need to enjoy these fireworks from Magic Kingdom Park is a theme park ticket and park pass reservation. If you aren't going to Magic Kingdom Park that day - no worries! You can actually see these fireworks from several of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels located nearby. My favorite spot to watch the Magic Kingdom Park fireworks outside of the park is at the Tambu Lounge at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. The Tambu Lounge is a walk-up bar and lounge area. I do want to mention that children are more than welcome here as well. There are several comfortable tables and chairs scattered around and has a perfect view of the Cinderella Castle from across the lake. The menu consists of snacks and sips from the 'Ohana restaurant that is on the other side of the bar area. My favorites are the pot stickers, noodles and of course the 'Ohana bread pudding. You can cozy up there and enjoy appetizers while waiting for the firework show. My family and I do this often and it's really enjoyable.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions about your upcoming trip, please feel free to stop back by and ask me

    Happy holidays!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
