Hi Cathleen, and welcome to planDisney!
I’m so glad you stopped by with your question. How awesome of you to include your daughter’s friend on your upcoming visit to the
Most Magical Place on Earth. Speaking from experience, those kinds of trips create lifelong memories. My parents once invited one of my best friends along on a Disney vacation when we were kids, and here I am all these years later helping other families plan their own Disney adventures. You’re giving both of them something they’ll remember forever.
Now, let’s get you squared away so your daughter’s friend can use her MagicBand with the tickets you purchased. The key here is your
Family & Friends List in your My Disney Experience account. Once a Guest is linked to your list, you can share plans, assign tickets, make Lightning Lane selections, dining reservations, and more.
Since your daughter’s friend already has a MagicBand from a previous visit, she likely has her own My Disney Experience account (or one that was created and managed by her parents). To connect with her, you’ll want to send an invitation to connect through the Family & Friends section of your My Disney Experience account. Once her parent or guardian accepts the invitation, her profile will appear on your list, and you’ll be able to assign one of your purchased tickets to her. You can find detailed steps on how to do this on the Walt Disney World website here:
Family & Friends List.
After she’s linked to your plans, her existing MagicBand will automatically sync with any new tickets or reservations assigned to her, as long as it’s still active and linked to her account. That way, she can just tap in and go when you arrive at the parks.
I hope this helps clear everything up, Cathleen. If you run into any hiccups or need a hand confirming everything’s properly connected, swing back by

send me another question. I’d be happy to walk you through it step by step to make sure you’re ready for all the fun that awaits.
See you real soon,
Brent
