I'm taking my daughter and her friends this winter to Disneyland to celebrate her 16th Birthday, Any suggestions for making this the best Birthday ever? We already plan on eating at Ariel's Grotto, but not sure what else I can do for cheap!!

    Hi, Sandra!

I'm glad you’re celebrating your daughter’s 16th birthday at the Disneyland Resort. There's no better place to spend a special occasion, and during the holidays, the resort takes on an extra element of magic with all the seasonal decorations, treats and attractions!

Be sure to pick up a complimentary birthday button at City Hall in Disneyland Park. It can be customized with your daughter's name so she’ll receive personalized birthday wishes from Cast Members all day! If you’ll be staying at the Disneyland Resort overnight, pack a few inexpensive birthday decorations, like streamers or a homemade banner, for your room so her day will be magical from the moment she opens her eyes!

I love the whimsical undersea atmosphere and character meet-and-greet opportunities during “Ariel’s Disney Princess Celebration.” Don’t forget to mention you’re celebrating your daughter’s birthday, because you may get sprinkled with extra pixie dust! For an extra-special treat, order one of Disneyland Resort’s party cakes. The Disney Princess Jewelry Box design comes filled with a small cake, along with a lit candle and special surprise. The individual-size cakes are just $15 each (plus tax) and can be ordered in advance by calling (714) 781-DINE (3463) or in person during your table-service meal.

Don’t miss the “it’s a small world” Holiday attraction, and the "Believe...In Holiday Magic" fireworks show is a must-see. I’m also excited about a show coming to Disney California Adventure Park called “World of Color—Winter Dreams,” a nighttime water spectacular that will bring all-new and amazing animation to the already popular show.

I hope this helps, Sandra. Please write back with any other questions you may have as you continue planning.

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
