I'm taking my daughter to Disneyland in Sept and we have Genie+ for our Tier 6 one-day one-park passes. Any tips on how best to experience both Smuggler's Run and Rise of the Resistance with minimum wait?

    Bright Suns to you, Rich!

Welcome to planDisney! I can tell that the Force is strong with you and your daughter as you're already planning ahead for your visit to the Disneyland Resort. I'm so glad that you reached out to us and I'd be happy to help you optimize your time while on-planet at Batuu

You've already taken the first step towards minimum wait times by purchasing Genie+ for your day. This will allow you to use the Lightning Lane entrance for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and bypass the standby queue. Just don't forget to make your booking as soon as you enter the Park because Hondo Ohnaka needs those goods delivered! Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance requires an Individual Lightning Lane purchase in order to use that entrance. If you don't mind making this purchase, that will get you onto this attraction the fastest and, when combined with your Smugglers Run Lightning Lane, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy the rest of Disneyland Park!

The other option for Rise of the Resistance will be the standby queue. If you are able to make Rope Drop, that will be your best chance for a lower wait time. A lot of guests will make a bee-line towards the attraction first thing in the morning, so don't delay! Wait times will generally increase after late morning when more crowds arrive at the Parks. If you do make Rope Drop, go through Frontierland and make a right at the Rivers of America (towards Big Thunder Mountain Railroad). Keep left to head into Galaxy's Edge. As the line for Rise of the Resistance forms, it will usually bend in this direction and you're more likely to find the end first.

I always like having my kids co-pilot the Millennium Falcon alongside me, but if you don't mind assisting another group on your own, a Single Rider line exists for Smugglers Run which often has you sitting in the cockpit within minutes! Unfortunately, that does mean that you and your daughter will likely be placed with separate parties.

I know that you have a single day at the Park and that there's so much to see and do, but if you'd like to truly immerse yourself at Galaxy's Edge, consider adding the Play Disney Parks App to your smartphone. The Star Wars Data Pad feature within the app will allow you to translate a variety of languages found throughout the Outpost as well as perform covert missions for either the Resistance or the First Order!

Rich, I hope that this was helpful for you as you plan your visit. I just returned from a father-daughter trip and I can tell you that the memories will last you a lifetime! Take advantage of Disney PhotoPass photographers so they can document this special day with her. Picture downloads will be included with your Genie+ purchase. If there is anything else you need, feel free to write back to us anytime! I wish the two of you a magical day at the Happiest Place on Earth!

May the Force Be With You,

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
