Bright Suns, Barbara! I see the Force has guided you to planDisney, one of the most helpful Disney vacation resources in the galaxy! You’ll be on your way to Batuu and other worlds in a galaxy far, far away before you know it.
As you noted in your question,
not all Walt Disney World tickets require a theme park reservation. Student group tickets, sport and convention tickets, Disney Military Salute tickets, Annual Pass holders, and Florida Resident Discover Disney tickets all require theme park reservations, but if you have a date-based ticket then you’re good to go. Since reservations are tied to your ticket type, there is no way to make a theme park reservation if your ticket does not require it.
If you’re worried about crowds during your trip, then I’d recommend taking advantage of
Early Entry. This perk is available to Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests and it allows them to enter the theme parks 30 minutes before official opening. With this extra time at Hollywood Studios you could enjoy Star Tours, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, and Rise of the Resistance (availability subject to change) with shorter wait times. You might also want to look into booking
Lightning Lane passes, which are available for booking 7 days ahead of arrival for Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests and 3 days in advance for all other guests.
Barbara, I hope this information was helpful. If you have any other questions, pop right back to planDisney and ask away!
May the Force be with you (or “may the spires keep you” as the locals say on Batuu)
Matt
