Welcome to planDisney, Erin! I'm so happy to answer your delicious holiday question today.
As long as you have booked a
vacation package (
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room reservation
and at least a 2-day
theme park ticket reserved together), you can usually add a
dining plan. However, your meal allotment is directly tied to the number of nights of your stay. So, if your stay is only one night, you will receive one allotment of meals per person on your reservation. At this time, if you book the
Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan for a 1-night stay, everyone on your reservation will receive 2 Quick-Service Meals and 1 Snack/Nonalcoholic Drink. If you book the
Disney Dining Plan for a 1-night stay, everyone on our reservation will receive 1 Table-Service Meal, 1 Quick-Service Meal, and 1 Snack/Nonalcoholic Drink. Both of these options currently come with a Resort-Refillable Drink Mug per person on the reservation.
All that being said, you don't have to redeem these meals in one day. You can use them on your check-in day through up to midnight on the day of checkout. If you're planning on adding a dining plan to a vacation package that has already been booked, simply select "
My Plans" from the My Disney Experience dropdown menu, find your reservation under "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets," and click "Change Reservation." You should be able to add a dining plan here by following the prompts. If you run into any issues,
a friendly Cast Member is always happy to help! Just note that this usually must be done by the day before your check-in date at the latest. It cannot be added once your arrival date has, well, arrived!
Erin, enjoy your
holiday visit to the resort. If you have any other questions,
I'm more than happy to answer them!
