I’m staying at Port Orleans French Quarter and want to meet our friends staying at Art of Animation for an early breakfast. What is the best way to get there?

Hi Karen! Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for stopping by with your question!

Meeting friends for breakfast at Disney is honestly one of my favorite ways to start a Disney morning.

Since you'll be traveling from Disney's Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter to Disney's Art of Animation Resort fairly early in the day, you do have a few transportation options, but some are definitely easier and faster than others.

The simplest and most efficient choice would be using a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft. This is especially true if your breakfast date is quite early, because it removes all the stress of juggling buses and transfer points first thing in the morning. If you want to make the ride feel extra magical, you could also book a Minnie Van through the Lyft app. They are adorable, incredibly convenient, and honestly such a fun Disney experience all on their own. My friend Ashley loves them!

Now, if you'd rather stick with complimentary Disney transportation, you can absolutely make it work with buses. One option is taking the earliest bus from French Quarter to one of the theme parks and then transferring to an Art of Animation bus from there.

Another possibility, depending on timing, would be routing through Disney Springs. You could take a bus from French Quarter to Disney Springs and then transfer onto an Art of Animation bus. However, this method only really works comfortably later in the morning once Disney Springs transportation is fully running. Since you specifically mentioned an early breakfast, I personally would not recommend relying on this route for your particular plans.

To be completely honest, if your priority is arriving relaxed and on time, I would absolutely go with a rideshare service in this situation. It will likely save you quite a bit of travel time and make the whole morning feel much smoother. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us. We're always available and more than happy to help here at planDisney!
