Hi, Michael!
Wow, your trip is coming up in just a couple of days! How exciting!
I absolutely love Disney's Wilderness Lodge; you are in for a real treat of an evening. My family really enjoys dining at Whispering Canyon Cafe too. The atmosphere of the Lodge reminds us of home in the Pacific Northwest.
There are
campfires at quite a few of the Resort hotels and Disney's Wilderness Lodge is one of them. I think gathering around the campire for sing-alongs and storytelling is such a great way to end a busy day of Park touring. You can even stick around afterwards for a
Movie Under the Stars if you're so inclined! You can bring a blanket or two if you'd like as it's sometimes a little cold in the evenings during this time of the year.
As far as Downtown Disney goes, there are so many fun shops and restaurants that I just love to stroll through. Shopping at the World of Disney for souvenirs is such a fun part of the trip, especially for little ones. The Lego Store is pretty awesome too. If you have about a half-a-day to spend at Downtown Disney, my vote would be to do that. If it were me, I would head over to Downtown Disney in the morning and have a nice relaxing afternoon/evening at your Resort's pool. I always like to have a little refresher in between Park touring days and that's a great way to do it.
I hope this helps! Please feel free to write back in if you have any other questions we can help with!
Wishing you and your family a Pixie Dusted vacation!
