Welcome back to planDisney, Andrea!
You are counting down the weeks until your stay at
Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and I am thrilled that you will be back in the middle of the magic very soon!
I’m happy to confirm that
self-service laundry facilities are open and operational throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. Laundry rooms are typically located near resort hotel pools; at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, you’ll find laundry facilities by the Bowling Pool, Computer Pool, and Hippy Dippy Pool. Please note that most laundry machines at the Walt Disney World Resort can be operated using a credit or debit card (there are still a few coin-operated machines, but I can’t confirm their locations or availability), so be sure to bring a card along. You can also purchase laundry soap from vending machines or at the
Everything POP Shopping & Dining gift shop, but I always bring some from home so I have the brand I like. A very cool feature is that you can receive text messages when your machine’s cycle is complete. I like to load up the machine, grab a drink, and sit by the pool so I can soak up vacation vibes even when doing laundry!
As for
playgrounds, you have picked a fantastic resort. You’ll find a play structure in the 70s section, but I think you’ll also find that your kiddos love exploring the colorful, larger-than-life toys and icons from the various decades that theme Disney’s Pop Century Resort. There is lots of space to run and explore throughout the resort, and I highly recommend walking across the bridge to
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort for more exploring - you'll find icons from classic Disney movies such as The Lion King, Finding Nemo, The Little Mermaid, and Cars. I suggest a stop at the
Landscape of Flavors food court for a delicious cupcake, smoothie, or Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar while you’re there.
You’re welcome to have guests visit you at your resort, Andrea. If they’ll be driving, they will need to let security know they’re visiting a resort guest and provide your name. Keep in mind, though, that only registered guests may enter and use the pool facilities. Other than the pool, your guests may join you for dining and exploring at your resort.
I hope this helps as you plan and count down the days! Please come back and see us if you have any more questions.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
