Hello - I’m staying at the Polynesian in early April. I’m assuming it’ll be busy so what time would you recommend getting to Magic Kingdom?

Hi Alice. Thank you for reaching out to planDisney with your question!

Early April is such a great time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is in full swing with its Garden Rocks Concert Series, Outdoor Kitchens, and beautiful topiaries. My favorite food offering at this year's festival is the Impossible Lumpia with Thai Sweet Chili Sauce at Trowel & Trellis. That dish is the chef's kiss, Alice! You'll also be able to grab a Boarding Group through the Virtual Queue and/or purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for the brand-new rollercoaster, TRON / Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom Park. This attraction is a game-changer for Tomorrowland and is not to be missed!

Now, in real life, I have to force myself to be an early riser. However, I am naturally an early riser at Walt Disney World. The excitement of the day just doesn't let me sleep in and I have also learned that the earlier you arrive at the park you are visiting, the more you can get done before the major crowds hit the parks. As such, I highly recommend you take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry. This is a perk for Disney Resorts Collection Hotel Guests only and allows you to enter the parks and begin riding rides 30 minutes before other Guests. I usually recommend you plan to arrive at the park gates at least a half hour before Early Theme Park Entry begins. While it may sometimes be an early wake-up to make that happen, it is well worth it in my opinion.

After that early morning, I recommend a lunch reservation at a table service restaurant or a mid-day break back at your resort. And since you're staying at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, it's an easy ride back on the monorail from both EPCOT and Magic Kingdom Park. This way, you'll be rested and ready to go back to the parks in the late afternoon/early evening.

Speaking of evenings, did you know that since you are staying at a deluxe resort, you have access to Extended Evening Theme Park Hours on select nights at select parks? Just be sure to check the calendar on your My Disney Experience mobile app to see if and when they are being offered. Because if they are, you can get extended time in the park with almost no one there! It's an amazing benefit.

Alice, I hope you have a wonderful time at the resort. If you are visiting on or around Easter, be sure to take a quick monorail ride over to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to see the beautiful chocolate Easter Egg displays and grab some treats at the Grand Cottage in the middle of their stunning lobby!

My, what beautiful blossoms we have this year,
    Matt
