I’m staying at the Paradise Pier Hotel next weekend. Can you tell me where I can view fireworks outside of the park on Friday night? The website says the PP viewing area is closed during construction.

    Greetings, Elena,

As you are aware, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel is currently undergoing a magical transformation with new theming based on your favorite Pixar stories and characters. During this construction, certain spaces and amenities may be temporarily unavailable. For facilities that may be unavailable, Guests may utilize similar amenities at other Disneyland Resort Hotels. For example, Paradise Pier Hotel Cast Members can help transport Guests to the Disneyland Hotel to enjoy the pools and fitness center there.

During the period when the pool deck at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel remains closed, the fireworks viewing area is also unavailable. Alternate fireworks viewing areas include the Downtown Disney District (I recommend the more open areas near Tortilla Jo’s), outside the Disneyland Hotel Adventure Tower, and the esplanade between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. If you choose to enjoy fireworks from the esplanade, you may even be able to hear the soundtrack of the fireworks spectacular.

Tony’s Tip: During your stay at Paradise Pier Hotel, I highly recommend visiting the Mickey in Paradise gift shop. I have often had excellent luck in finding items that have sold out at other locations in the Disneyland Resort at Mickey in Paradise. During hotel construction, the regular gift shop located in the hotel lobby may be closed. But a selection of products is available in a temporary location inside the Pacific Ballroom. During a visit a few weeks ago, my family and I found the very item we had been searching for at various other locations right there at the hotel! And this wasn’t the first time this has happened to us. We always seem to find precious treasures at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel.

I hope you have a magical time at the Disneyland Resort, Elena!
