I'm staying off-site for two days prior to my Disney resort stay and plan to visit the parks during that time. Will my MagicBand work before my hotel reservation as long as my ticket is linked?

Hello, Heather! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

While you won’t have the “magical extras” like access to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room or charging privileges, your MagicBand will work in lieu of an Admission Card as long as your Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park ticket is linked to your My Disney Experience account and you’re using your ticket within its validity window. Once you check into your official Walt Disney World Resort hotel, those magical extras will become available to you.

My family and I love the ease and convenience MagicBands provide during our Walt Disney World Resort vacations. From Theme Park admission to FastPass+ experience redemption to Disney PhotoPass pictures linked to our Memory Maker, MagicBands are truly magical. And speaking of PhotoPass, did you know there are some attraction photos and special videos that are only available if you’re wearing a MagicBand? These include the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom Park, Slinky Dog Dash at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Frozen Ever After at Epcot. Make sure you check out your My Disney Experience mobile app to see your photos from each of these attractions!

I hope you have a magical experience during your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation, Heather. Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help you plan.
