I’m staying at an official wdw good neighbor hotel (lake Buena vista resort). What transportation options are there to park and Disney springs? Basically, what are the benefits of staying there vs any other offsite hotel?

    Hey there, Jennifer!

I hope you're having an extra magical day! Welcome back to planDisney, and thank you so much for stopping by with your question. It's a privilege to help Guests plan their upcoming trips to Walt Disney World Resort. Let’s dive into your question!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotel, so I can provide some firsthand experience. Staying at a Good Neighbor Hotel is a fantastic value if you want to enjoy the 'Disney bubble.’ However, Disney transportation is only available to Guests staying at official Disney Resort hotels. This means that there won't be any beautifully decorated Disney buses or, my personal favorite, the Disney Skyliner, stopping by your hotel. Instead, Good Neighbor Hotels provide their own shuttles. When you check in, be sure to ask about the shuttle schedule so you'll know the best times to catch a ride to the parks.

There are so many wonderful benefits to staying at a Disney Resort hotel. Complimentary transportation is one of my favorites; after all, is it really a vacation if you're driving? My favorite perk is free parking at your Disney Resort hotel. Expenses can add up quickly, so free parking really is a game-changer.

Early Theme Park Entry is another great perk that's also included with your Disney Resort hotel stay, allowing you to enter the parks 30 minutes before they open to the general public. This can be key to experiencing the most popular attractions with shorter wait times. There are other select hotels that get to enjoy this perk, so I would double-check that yours is on the list.

Bonus tip: When the shuttle schedule didn't fit my plans, and I needed to get somewhere quickly, I found the Minnie Van service (powered by Lyft) incredibly convenient. This adorably themed transportation makes getting to your destination easy and fun! I also loved how close these hotels are to Disney Springs. Popping in for lunch or dinner was a breeze.

Jennifer, I hope this information has helped. Most importantly, I hope you have an amazing adventure on your upcoming trip! Please come back and see me anytime.

    Your personal planning companion,
    Michelle
