I'm staying off propery. Do I need to park at the TTC or can I park at MK? How much time should I budget from the moment I enter Disney property until I arrive at the MK main gate?

    Hi Michelle!

There are several ways to drive into the Walt Disney World Resort and some are slightly closer than others to the Magic Kingdom, but generally speaking, it take about 10 minutes on the more direct routes from the time you enter Walt Disney World property to when you show up at the Magic Kingdom parking toll plaza.  Just follow the signs to the Magic Kingdom to get to the toll plaza.

After paying for parking, you will park in the Magic Kingdom parking lot.  Be sure to write down or memorize the location of your vehicle!  Then you will board a tram to ride or, if you are close enough, to walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TT&C).

At the TT&C, you can purchase theme park tickets if you need to.  That is also where you can get on a monorail or a ferry boat to get to the Magic Kingdom; the Magic Kingdom is separated from the TT&C by the Seven Seas Lagoon.  Then you will go through security (bag check) just outside the Magic Kingdom before going through the turnstiles.  Once you are through the ticket turnstiles, you are in the Magic Kingdom!

It sounds long and complicated, but it really isn't.  Once you enter the Magic Kingdom parking lot, just follow all of the other people heading to the Magic Kingdom!  It generally takes about 30 minutes from the time you park your car to when you are standing on Main Street USA - sometimes a little less and sometimes a little more!

    Have a magical vacation!
