I'm staying in a non-Disney hotel and won't have a car. I read that I can take an uber to the TTC. How do I get from the TTC to the Magic Kingdom? Also I'm coming alone to a dental convention. Would it be weird to go to DW solo as a 40yo?

    Hi Courtney, welcome to planDisney!

You must be so excited that your visit to Walt Disney World is THIS Friday! You are correct that you can take an Uber to the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC) to visit Magic Kingdom Park.  Once your driver drops you off, you have the option to either take the Disney Monorail or a Ferryboat to Magic Kingdom Park.  To experience both, I would probably take the Ferryboat to Magic Kingdom Park and then hop on the Disney Resort Monorail on the way back.  I would budget time to visit each of the shops at the resorts located on the monorail.  If you'd prefer to bypass the resorts, there is an express Monorail that will bring you directly to the TTC.

As far as traveling solo, please don't give it a second thought!  It is more common than you think.  I am older than you and I have enjoyed Walt Disney World solo on a few occasions.  I once debated getting in line for a character picture but when I did, I was surprised to learn that the person in front of me, as well as the person behind me, were also solo adult travelers.  We all had a nice conversation as we waited our turn to be with the character.

If your budget allows, I would like to suggest that you purchase Disney Genie+ if you plan to enjoy as many of the attractions as possible during your visit on Friday.  You'll be able to utilize the Lightning Lane entrance for any of the attractions you are able to reserve through this service.

I'd also like to mention that if you'd like to experience TRON Lightcycle / Run, please know that a stand-by line is not available.  Instead, you will need to join a Virtual Queue or purchase an Individual Lightning Lane reservation. The attraction is extremely popular so both options may reach capacity quickly.

Courtney, I'm so glad you are able to budget time to visit Magic Kingdom Park during your dental convention.  I hope you have the most magical day!
