Jambo, Jess! Welcome back to planDisney and thanks for stopping by with another great planning question.
I absolutely love staying at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. From the moment you arrive at the lantern-lit lobby, you're transported to a beautiful African village on the savanna, and with its theming, quaint feel with access to the amenities at both Kidani and the neighboring Jambo House, the fun pools, awesome animal-centric activities, and the best dining in all of Walt Disney World (in my opinion), it's the perfect home away from home right in the middle of the magic. Now, let's chat about the rooms!
If you booked a Resort View Deluxe Studio or Villa, you will have a view of the Resort's landscaping, pool complex, bus stops, road, or parking areas. There are, however, a few Resort View rooms with partial views of the savanna, and from my experience, those are located in the North building of Kidani. Your best bet for getting a partial savanna view is to request a north-facing room on the North side of the building, and you'll have to
call a Cast Member with Disney Resort Hotel Reservations or use the Chat feature on the Walt Disney World website by clicking the "Help" pop-up to place this specific request. Just be aware that there are very few of these rooms, and requests are based on availability and not guaranteed. But the awesome Cast Members will do everything they can to make magic for you.
If you don't have a partial savanna view from your room, Hakuna Matata! It means "no worries." There are several spots around the Resort to get some great views of the animals. There are outdoor lookouts near the lobby and windows along the hallways to spy some animals as you're walking to and from your room, but my favorite spot to view some adorable animals is always near the elevators. In the morning, when I'm heading out for a fun-filled day in the parks, I always seem to have a great view of some animals having breakfast.
My go-to room request at Kidani is a room near the lobby. Depending on where your room is located, you will find that the hallways are pretty long. I find that having a room near the lobby makes it so fast and easy to get to the buses, dining options and those fantastic animal viewing spots.
I hope this helps, Jess, and I hope you have a wild time on your magical adventure at the Most Magical Place on Earth! Please feel free to stop by any time with any planning questions you may have along the way.
Hakuna Matata,
Mandy
