Ahoy, Amanda! I am so pleased to welcome you back to planDisney. Getting ready for another adventure at sea? Hot dog!
Disney Cruise Line vacations are so magical!
It sounds like you have the plans all arranged for the easiest morning as you head to
Port Canaveral. I love waking up and seeing the numbers on my Disney Cruise Line countdown turn to all characters (zeros).
Staying at the Hyatt in the airport and using Disney transportation will have you singing "Hakuna Matata!" before you even board the ship.
The Hyatt Regency Orlando is an escalator ride away from baggage claim. When you check into the resort, let the people at the front desk know you are sailing away in the morning and have
Disney transportation booked. They can share all the details you need to know and help you with a form to complete about luggage in the morning. This is where the magic Pixie Dust starts to really sparkle! On the morning of the cruise, you can attach the Disney Cruise Line luggage tags and leave your bags in your room. They will
automagically appear outside your stateroom on the ship.
This means you will need to do a little strategic packing in the morning. The bags you leave in your room will be out of sight until later in the afternoon. You should have a carry-on bag for everything you need to board the ship, including your
required travel documentation (passport) and medications or other essentials. If you want to head to the pool, pack a bathing suit and sunscreen.
Once your bags are packed, tagged and ready to be picked up, you can head to the lobby. There, you will find signs directing you to check in for your bus to the port. Once you are checked in, they will give you a boarding group for the bus and assist you with all the directions for where to wait and when to board.
One of the best features of using Disney transportation to the port is that you can typically check in for your cruise upon arrival. Cast Members will check your passport and other cruise information to ensure you are ready to board the ship. You will go through security, much like being at the airport. Then, it's just waiting at the port terminal to board the ship and hear that magical "Welcome Aboard!"
While waiting, make sure you have downloaded the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app and are connected to DCL Wi-Fi (Disney Cruise Line's wi-fi system). This will transform the app to its onboard functionality, and you can see movie and show times, your
rotational dining schedule, dinner menus, and so much more.
If you have any other questions, Amanda, you know you have a friend in
planDisney!
