I’m staying at Grand California and a magic key holder when can I purchase the new lightening lane multi pass

    Hi there, Kendra!

Welcome back to planDisney, and thank you for bringing another question to us. I’m so happy to hear you’re planning a vacation during Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort. You’re going to have so much fun as you enjoy the fall-inspired food, decor, attractions, and entertainment available throughout both theme parks!

Lightning Lane passes are a great way to make the most of your time in the theme parks. Guests can purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass as a theme park ticket add-on in advance or after theme park entry using the Disneyland mobile app. However, no matter how or when it is purchased, attractions cannot be booked in advance for Lightning Lane access at the Disneyland Resort. This is different from the way Lightning Lane Multi Pass operates at the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, so if you have heard about Guests being able to book attractions in the days leading up to their arrival, please know that this feature doesn’t apply at the Disneyland Resort.

The good news is that as a Magic Key holder, you won’t be at a disadvantage because no one is able to pre-book Lightning Lane attractions prior to arrival at the resort. Whether you want to use Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Single Pass, or both, you'll purchase the service you want and choose your first attraction upon entering a theme park. After you redeem your first Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can make additional selections throughout the day at attractions in Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.

Since you’ll be staying at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, there’s a special seasonal perk I’d like to share with you! Guests of the Disneyland Resort Hotels can take part in a complimentary trick-or-treating experience on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. during Halloween Time. Simply check in at the Front Desk of your hotel to receive a treat map and wristband. Then, you can go trick-or-treating at locations across the three hotels of the Disneyland Resort. Guests of all ages are welcome to participate!

I hope this information helps, Kendra, and that your visit to the Disneyland Resort is pixie-dusted to perfection! Please write back if you have more questions before you set out on your adventure.

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
