Welcome to planDisney, Sadie! I'm so glad I get to answer your question today. I totally get wanting to make the most of your stay, especially when it comes to planning out your meals.
Disney food is such a huge part of the fun!
When it comes to the
Disney Dining Plan, it's a package deal for everyone listed in the same room reservation. That means if one guest on the reservation wants the dining plan, then everyone in that room needs to be on board, too. So in your case, if your friend doesn't want to get the dining plan, then unfortunately, you wouldn't be able to add it just for yourself. It's all or nothing for everyone staying under the same roof!
Now, if you're really excited about the Dining Plan, and it sounds like you might be, maybe chat with your friend about the perks! It can be a great value, especially if you enjoy sit-down Table-Service meals,
character dining, or want the ease of having things prepaid. Plus, who doesn't love grabbing a Mickey Bar without thinking twice about it?
If your friend still isn't interested and you really want the Dining Plan, you'd need to book separate
resort reservations to make that happen: one for you with the plan and one for her without. But that does mean you wouldn't officially be rooming together, so I recommend chatting with her and seeing if you can get her on board!
I hope this answers your question, Sadie, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
