If I'm staying at the Disneyland Hotel and my flight doesn't leave until later in the day, can I still hang out and swim at the pools after I check out? Is there a locker room we can use?

Hiya, Jennifer, and a warm welcome to planDisney!

First off, I’m so excited to hEAR that you’re thinking of staying at one of my favorite spots, the Disneyland Hotel! There’s something so special about this hotel – it’s the perfect mix of Disney nostalgia and charm, combined with modern sophistication. Plus, it’s centrally located near Downtown Disney District, and just a short walk to the entrances of both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park

I’m happy to report that as a Hotel Guest, you can use the Disneyland Hotel pools on your arrival and departure days! So, if you happen to arrive earlier in the day before your room is ready, you can check in and store your luggage with the Bell Desk so you can sneak in even more pool time! Then, you can do the same thing on your departure day for additional splash time before heading home. Though there isn’t a locker room, there are several bathrooms you’ll have access to, including a large one in the pool area, located just below Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill. There are also additional bathrooms in each of the three towers that you can use.

I’ve actually done the same thing on my departure day, and my family and I dried off in the nearby restroom and had no problem getting changed and back on our way. I do recommend packing a smaller backpack or bag to hold your pool items and dry clothes, including a wet/dry bag to hold your suit. This will make it easier to throw everything in with the rest of your luggage when it’s time to head out for your evening flight.

You may also want to consider renting a Poolside Cabana for a half day or full day – I recently toured one, and I was so impressed at the amenities included. Enjoy the comforts of two chaise lounge chairs, a love seat, sofa, 32-inch LCD television with cable access, mini fridge with complimentary water bottles, and a complimentary fruit platter. This could be the perfect relaxation spot for you while enjoying your last few hours at the Disneyland Resort! For more information about pricing or to make cabana reservations, please call (714) 778-6600 and select option 3.

The retro-themed pools at the Disneyland Hotel are my family’s favorite pools at the Disneyland Resort thanks to the awesome Monorail waterslides – my children have spent hours on them and can never get enough! Personally, my favorite spot to relax is in the bubbling Mickey or Minnie Spa whirlpool. At select times, you can even enjoy food and beverage service at the pools from nearby Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar and Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill! I highly recommend the Piranha Pool – it’s my favorite tropical concoction and it immediately transports me to vacation mode!

Best wishes for a magical, memorable visit to the Disneyland Hotel, Jennifer!

Hope to see ya’ real soon
