If I’m staying at Disney resort, do I need a ticket to get into the theme park?

    Hi Jonalyn,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  I am happy to hear you are considering staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, it is the best way to be fully immersed in Disney Magic during your visit.

When planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, there are three main components to your vacation: The resort hotel, Theme Park Tickets and Dining Plans.  Walt Disney World Resort gives guests the flexibility to purchase these options together as a Magic Your Way Vacation Package or individually.  Staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel does not automatically give you access to the Theme Parks, you will need to add Theme Park Tickets to your Resort reservation.  You will have the flexibility to add as many or few days of Theme Park Tickets to your vacation to best suit your needs.

Guests who are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort and purchase at least a Two Day Theme Park Ticket are also given the opportunity to add a Disney Dining Plan to the Magic Your Way Package.  My family and I always choose to add the Disney Dining Plan, for us, we like the idea of knowing once we arrive most of our meals are pre-paid.

I hope that helps, Jonalyn.  Please let us know if you have any other questions, we are always happy to help.
