Hi there Seth and welcome to planDisney!
Longtime Disney guests and
Disney Vacation Club members alike tell tales of the coveted and closely guarded treasure to be found at
Stormalong Bay; desired by many a soul seeking sunny solace in a delightfully sandy-bottomed pool, or the thrills of sliding down a distinctive shipwreck on the shores of Crescent Lake. You may possibly be already aware of the gatekeepers to this exclusive experience, but allow me to bestow upon you a bit more knowledge, should you wish you bring another along on your aquatic adventuring:
- At the present time, only Disney Resort Hotel guests staying at Disney's Beach Club Resort and Disney's Yacht Club Resort are permitted access to Stormalong Bay and the fenced-in pool areas. On the way to grab dessert at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop we recently observed Recreation Cast Members adjacent to the Ship Shape Health Club requesting guests to present their Room Keys or MagicBands and confirm the number of guests registered to the room before providing wristbands for entry. Non-Resort Guests who walked up and inquired about it were informed that these wristbands were required and only given to those registered at either of the required accommodations.
- You may be able to inquire with a friendly Hotel Reservations Cast Member over the phone or at the Front Desk as you check in to see whether you'd be able to register an additional guest to your room, or try to Modify Reservation under My Plans in My Disney Experience to see whether you can do this in advance of your stay. (Be aware that additional charges may or may not apply depending on your room type/capacity with whoever you currently have registered to the room.)
Pool and recreation policies may be subject to change without prior notice, but the legendary exclusivity of Stormalong Bay has been known by many for ages, and only an additional part of the allure of staying at the Disney Resort Hotels it is available for. After you've had a chance to soak in all of the poolside fun, you might be feeling festive enough to enjoy
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and
all of the spooky fun happening at Walt Disney World Resort during your stay!
