I’m staying at Art if Animation late August and early September in the cars family suites! Do you when the full room renovation will be complete or how I can request a refurbished room?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Sara, and thanks for stopping by with your question. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is my absolute favorite Disney Resort Hotel to stay at. We too stayed in the Cars Family Suites! Honestly, the best part about the family suites in my opinion are the 2 bathrooms.

As you mentioned, the Family Suites are undergoing refurbishment. When I was there in December, the Finding Nemo Family Suites were completed, and they were working on finishing The Lion King Family Suites and Cars Family Suites. Although there is not a set time frame as to when they will be fully completed, you can request to stay in a refurbished room.

All you need to do is call Disney Resort Hotel Reservations to verbally request a refurbished room, in the section you are wanting to stay in. The Cast Member will do their best to accommodate your requests! I’ve personally experienced this when we stayed at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort this past spring. Upon arrival to our resort, I found that we were not in the newly refurbished Toy Story section. After checking in, and asking if there was anything available last minute, the Cast Member found us a room! Considering we asked so last minute, I am thankful we were sprinkled with a little Pixie Dust. I recommend calling and putting in your accommodation request sooner than later!

Don’t forget to travel in style on the newly added Disney Skyliner while you're there, since you have a station at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. The Disney Skyliner can transport you above the treetops to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and to the International Gateway at Epcot.

    Have a Magical Stay!
