I’m staying at art of animation and would like to drive my car to Animal Kingdom Lodge and park to check out the hotel for future lodging. Is this possible??

    Hi Michael,

Welcome back to planDisney! I'm glad you stopped by with your question about visiting Animal Kingdom Lodge during your Walt Disney World vacation next week.

I love exploring both Jambo House and Kidani Village at Animal Kingdom Lodge. The restaurants -- Boma, Sanaa and Jiko -- are fantastic, some of the very best on property, in my opinion. My husband and I enjoy exploring the lodge, shopping at Zawadi Marketplace, grabbing a cocktail at Victoria Falls Lounge and watching the African animals on the savannah from a balcony at Jambo House or by the firepit at Kidani Village.

Guests are welcome to park at Animal Kingdom Lodge for dining reservations or check-in. You will be asked to show ID at the entrance and your reservation will be verified, if you have one. The same process takes place if you arrive by a rideshare vehicle.

If you don't have a reservation and want to shop, explore or grab a beverage or snack at The Mara, let the attendant know and ask if parking is available. Admission is at the discretion of the cast member at the entrance, based on capacity. I've never been turned away, but I know that parking may be more limited during busy periods or special events.

From your resort, you also could hop on the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios and then grab a bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge. Sometimes, it's easier and more fun to let Mickey's friends do the driving.

Thanks for your question, Michael. I'm glad planDisney has been helpful in the past and hope you will turn to us if we can help in any of way for this or future Disney vacations.

    Enjoy,

    Wilma
