Hi all. I’m starting to plan my families 1st trip to WDW for June 2020. We are two families going together. Totaling 8, inc. 3 kids. If we don’t chose the dining plans how much would you estimate we would spend for 5 days? Should I just opt for the dining?

    Hi Olivia!

Thanks for your question. Congrats on planning your first trip to Walt Disney World! What an exciting time! Be prepared to be blown off your feet when you get there. It is truly the "Happiest Place on Earth" and certainly the most magical :-)

As for dining, it would depend on what (and how often) the 2 families eat, but I would strongly encourage getting on a Disney Dining Plan, at least the Quick Service Dining Plan. Costs vary based on the Dining Plan you choose, and where you choose to eat, but I would say our family saves anywhere somewhere between 15% - 18% on average by using the Dining Plan. This may not sound like much for 1 day, but spread that out over 5 days with 8 family members and that can amount to significant cost savings. Then, it can free you up to purchase, say, more souvenirs. Or better yet, you can have some extra money when your magical time at Disney World is over!

My recommendation: Go with one of the Dining Plans. Not only will you end up saving, you also won't have to worry about pulling out your credit card each time. You can rest knowing your dining options are already covered before you arrive.

May you and your family have a Magical Time next Summer!
