Hi Isabella! Thanks for visiting planDisney.
We attended
Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite last year and had an absolute blast. We enjoyed shorter Attraction queues, themed treats, and lots of special Character Meet & Greets and Disney PhotoPass opportunities. In fact, our photos turned out so great that we used one as our holiday card this year.
A big part of the fun was getting dressed up, so I understand wanting to get in the spirit with your costume. My family used
The Mandalorian as our inspiration while keeping in mind the park rules on dress. Disneyland After Dark events have
costume guidelines, which are a little different from typical park guidelines for Guest attire. So, you're free to dress as your favorite Character at a special event like Star Wars Nite, but the costume must still be family-friendly, feature no weapons or sharp objects, and can't drag on the ground. Adults can't wear masks or headgear that covers the face. We were concerned my son's cape might be considered a hazard, for example, so I hacked a few inches off, and we also removed the eye shields in my boys' masks, so their faces weren't entirely covered. Be sure to read through the rules to help ensure your costume meets the guidelines for park entry.
If you're concerned with the amount of skin you'll have showing, I'm familiar with the costume in question and I have seen Guests wearing a take on it in the parks during Star Wars Nite, so I think you'll be good to go. However, do be aware that it is always up to the discretion of security Cast Members whether a costume is acceptable. I think having your sweater with you and available to put on is extra insurance both against difficulty entering and an evening chill! But I expect you won't have a problem.
Be sure to enjoy Hyperspace Mountain in Tomorrowland. It's my all-time favorite Attraction overlay.
May the Force be with you.
