Hiya, Mary! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you've stopped by with such great planning questions.
It sounds as if the magic is calling you, Mary, and I'm so excited to hear that you are answering the call! And you plan on participating in the runDisney
2024 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend in January or the 2024 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend in February?! How exciting and amazing! I'm thrilled to help you plan this magical adventure at The Most Magical Place on Earth, so let's get to your questions and get this planning party started!
Typically,
Walt Disney World vacation packages, including your Resort reservation and theme park tickets, are released in late spring or early summer. Last year, the 2023 room reservations and vacation packages became available in early June, but I suggest keeping an eye on the
Walt Disney World website and the
Disney Parks Blog for the news on the release of the 2024 vacation packages as soon as it drops.
While specific payment plans are not offered, you
can make your own pixie-dusted payment plan! Currently, you can book a vacation package with just a deposit of $200 (prices are subject to change). Then, you can make partial payments online on your
My Disney Experience account as you wish up until 30 days before your arrival date when the full balance is due.
While not being able to register for your
runDisney race would be less than magical, Hakuna Matata! It means "no worries!" As long as you cancel your vacation package at least 30 days before your arrival date, you will receive a full refund, including your deposit; and room-only reservations can be canceled without penalty up to five days before your scheduled arrival date. Just be aware that the funds will be returned to the credit, debit or gift card from which they came. So, if you use a Disney Gift Card for any of your payments, be sure to save the gift card!
I hope this helps, Mary, and I hope you book the race and vacation of your dreams! Please stop by any time with any planning questions you may have along your magical journey. Happy training and happy planning!
See ya real soon,
Mandy
