How exciting to be gearing up for a solo trip to Walt Disney World! A few months ago, I had the chance to spend some time on my own in The Most Magical Place on Earth - and oh my goodness, was it FUN! There's just so much to do in Disney World, and doing exactly what
you want to do, when
you want to do it? Well, that's just pure pixie dust, isn't it?!
Jane, I love that you've booked a reservation at
Spice Road Table in EPCOT. While I haven't had the chance to dine there yet myself, it's long been on my bucket list. From the views and the vibes to
that mouth-watering menu, Spice Road Table looks like a dream come true!
Now, I just returned from my own magical adventure (cue the post-Disney blues!), and my family and I made great use of the
Disney Dining Plan. In a few instances, we had good luck with substitutions, so I strongly encourage you to ask your server about your options at Spice Road Table. Of course, substitutions are never guaranteed and are at the discretion of each dining location. In my experience, Disney Cast Members are always happy to help when they can, so it never hurts to ask!
If you find that you're unable to swap the tagine for another small plate, remember that you can always order it anyway and pay for it out of pocket.
Before I let you go, Jane, I want to share a few tips for a spectacular solo trip. First, be sure to take advantage of those
Single Rider lines when you can. I used this option recently on
Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain. Not only did it significantly shorten my wait, but I also made a new friend during my Himalayan adventure!
Finally, a solo trip is the perfect time to check out some Disney World lounges. Lounges operate on a first-come, first-served basis, and as a party of one, you'll have an advantage in quickly snagging a spot. Some of my favorites include
Enchanted Rose Lounge at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa,
Nomad Lounge at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, and
Space 220 Lounge at EPCOT. I've also been dying to try the adults-only
GEO-82, but as the mom of two young kids, I just haven't had the chance! If you go, I hope you'll remember me as you leisurely sip your craft cocktail surrounded by Disney Adults!
