Hello, Jessica!
Moms are total superheroes in my book! I'm sure your kiddos will be thrilled to visit the Disneyland Resort with you. And I'm honored to be your planning sidekick!
The
Disneyland Resort Rules state that children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by someone aged 14 or older to board an attraction. So your 11-year-old will be allowed to ride on their own if they are comfortable doing that. However, the
Rider Switch page does say that the supervising guest should be age 14 or older to wait with your younger child, so you won't be able to leave your older child as the supervising guest for your 3-year-old.
I'm sorry, I know that means you will probably miss out on some rides. I know the times that I was pregnant and had to skip my favorite rides were really hard. You want to experience everything when you're at the parks! I tried to find other things that I could do, like trying new snacks or catching a live entertainment act I'd never seen, to replace the rides that I couldn't enjoy on those trips. I still had so much fun!
Instead of using Rider Switch, I would recommend that your 11-year-old uses the
Single Rider line when it's available. That's the fastest way for that kiddo to get some thrill rides in while you and your younger child experience something else.
You should measure both of your kids before you travel to the parks so you know
what rides they are tall enough to go on. Then you can plan what you'd like to do together, figure out if there are some things your older child will want to do on their own, and know what to put on your list for your next visit.
Plenty of attractions don't have any height requirements at all! Classics like Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean will be perfect for your whole family.
Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway and
WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure are great options for you, too!
Jessica, I'm confident that you'll tap into all your superpowers to make it an unforgettable trip for your family. If there are any other questions I can answer for you
just say the word and I'll be back in a flash! Your kiddos are lucky to have an incredible mom like you!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
