Hello , I’m a single parent of 2 boys , One 9 years old and the other 6 months . I’m so worried about the long waiting times seeing how my little one can get fussy at times … is there a pass to purchase to avoid the long waiting? Nd what rides for the baby

    Hiya Brea,

Welcome to planDisney! I’m always happy to see an Ohioan with a question about Walt Disney World Resort. Ohio holds a special place in my heart since I attended college there.

As someone who took her now almost one-year-old to Walt Disney World Resort when she was four months old, I completely understand your question! Standing in lines can be difficult for Mouseketeers of all ages (me included but especially for little ones. It makes your heart beat faster when you are trying to calm your little in line and are on your own. If you haven’t already considered it, I highly recommend getting Disney Genie+ services each day you plan to be in the Theme Parks. With Disney Genie+, you can reserve entrance to the Lightning Lanes that allow you to bypass the standby line and spend significantly less time waiting in line for the attraction you have a Genie+ selection for. While it is an additional cost, I cannot visit Walt Disney World Resort with my baby without it! In most cases, we were able to walk on the attractions! Disney Genie+ allows us to enjoy our time in the Theme Parks and avoid meltdowns in the line.

As for what attractions are best for your baby, you will be happy to know that any attraction that is classified as “All Ages and Any Height” is safe for your baby to ride (in my experience, you can find the most opportunities for your little at Magic Kingdom Park. That said, even though it is suitable for a tiny Mouseketeer, if your baby is anything like mine, that doesn’t mean they will love it. On my daughter’s first visit, we took her on Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, which she hated. It was too loud for her, and she did not enjoy it. Her favorite attractions that trip were Kilimanjaro Safaris, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Toy Story Mania! When we took her back in February, she loved Haunted Mansion (and still Toy Story Mania!)! I can’t wait to see what she loves this summer!

I hope this was helpful, Brea. It is so special that you want to plan a magical vacation for your babies; you are the magic mom! As you continue thinking through your, if you need more tips or tricks, please come back and see me. I’d love to help your trip be stress-free for you and magical for your boys.

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
