Hi, there!
Cynthia, I'm so glad you have an upcoming
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planned with your daughters. Some of my very best childhood memories include traveling to the Walt Disney World Resort with my brothers and our single mom. It wasn't easy for my mom to take us by herself, but those vacation memories are now so precious and priceless. I know your daughters will appreciate and treasure the magical memories you make together this February!
I can certainly understand your predicament; one of my sons is a thrill-seeker and the other is decidedly not. I did some research for you and I'm happy to answer your question.
Guests of Walt Disney World Resort are asked to supervise children at all times. Guest policy information for
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is posted on the Walt Disney World Resort website. It states, "Children under age 7 years must be accompanied by a person age 14 years or older." If your 8-year old daughter is willing to ride alone while you wait with your youngest, she is welcome to do so!
We have found that we can best prepare our non-thrill-seeking son for attractions by looking at photos and videos of those attractions online, prior to our vacations. Perhaps this strategy will work with your youngest daughter as well!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this great question. I'm wishing you and your daughters the most magical time together!
Ashley
