I'm a single mom of three and I'm trying to find out affordable ways to visit the theme parks

A happy Disney-day to you, Carol! I love that you are planning a vacation for you and your kids! I can also appreciate that you are planning your vacation on a budget! My wife and I always take that into consideration when making our plans! In doing so, we always look for the best possible money-saving deal! Let me share a few of our tips!

The Walt Disney World Resort makes various special offers available throughout the year! When visiting the Walt Disney World Resort website, look for a heading that states, "Places to Stay." Hover (don't click) your mouse over that heading and a dropdown menu will appear. Look for the heading that states, "View Special Offers" and click it! Here you will find all of the current money-saving offers available! Look for the right match for your vacation! If you don't see a current offer that meets your needs, check back often! New deals and offers are posted seasonally! These deals can result in big savings!

Carol, another tip is to select a resort from the Disney Resorts Collection of hotels that best meets your needs! There are hotels available for every budget-range! If saving money on a hotel is important to you then you might want to consider a very fun Disney-themed stay at Disney's Art of Animation Resort! This is one of my favorites because it is just so Disney! At every turn you are immersed in a world of Disney animation! From The Lion King, to The Little Mermaid, to Cars, and Finding Nemo, your kids will not be disappointed! You might also consider Disney's Pop Century Resort! Either of these resorts will have accommodations for the four of you! The other thing that I love about these resorts is that they are linked to the Disney Skyliner! This gondola ride through the sky will get you and your kids to both Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT!

Finally, Carol, another thing to consider is getting the Disney Visa Card! My wife and I use this card to earn Disney Reward Dollars! We save as many dollars as we can and then use our rewards when it comes time to book our vacation package. We've used our Disney Reward Dollars to pay for tickets and our hotel!

Carol, I hope these money-saving tips are helpful as you plan your visit! Feel free to bring more questions to planDisney! We're always happy to help!
