I’m a single mom taking my son on his first ever Disney trip for his second birthday. I’m going with my parents but they are horrible at taking pictures. I know extended selfie sticks are banded but is there an exception or a handheld device I can use?

Hello Elizabeth, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great question.

I am so glad to hear that you are bringing your young prince to the Walt Disney World Resort for a magical birthday visit. You are a such a great mom to give your son such a memorable celebration for his first visit. Your memories will be too precious to capture with just a handheld device. Disney’s PhotoPass Photographers are available to assist you with getting the best photos during your family vacation. This service is free to all guests, in fact, they will even take your picture with your smartphone or camera, in addition to using their equipment.

Disney’s PhotoPass® Photographers can be found in every theme park, near the most iconic landmarks on Disney property. Your photo and even video can be captured onboard several rides and attractions throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. When a PhotoPass Photographer takes your photo, they will scan your MagicBand or a photo card. When this info is linked to your My PhotoPass account, you will have the option to purchase digital downloads or prints of your memories. You can also crop, edit and add neat borders and stickers to your photos. If you want unlimited downloads of your photos and the ability to share them almost instantly with family and friends, you should purchase a Memory Maker. This product will allow you to even purchase an archive DVD of all your photos for one low price. A Memory Maker purchased at least 3 days prior to your arrival will allow you to save $30 off the regular price. Your trip may only last several days, but your photo memories can last forever.
