I'm a single mom and will be taking my son (who will be 2) to Disney by myself. How hard is it going to be getting my son to the parks on the bus all by myself with a stroller and diaper bag (assuming I can't switch my reservation to one on the monorails)?

    Hi Stacey!

Welcome to Walt Disney World and congratulations on your upcoming visit.  I once vacationed with my girlfriend who brought her 2 month old and 2 year old while I brought my 3 year old and was pregnant.  We had an amazing time and didn't stay in a monorail resort either.  So my reassurance to you is don't worry - it really is called the Happiest Place on Earth for a reason.

First, I recommend taking a look at this link about Traveling With Little Ones at Disney Theme Parks.  It is a great resource for planning your trip.  Next, my suggestion is to travel as "lightly" as possible.  I have found that a good umbrella stroller which reclines and has a canopy makes traveling by yourself with a toddler so much easier.  I personally have a Maclaren stroller, although they can be a little pricey.  I have seen many other brands of umbrella strollers that recline and have a canopy and recommend doing a little shopping before your trip. Carrying an umbrella stroller onto a bus while at the same time wrangling a 2 year old is immeasurably easier than bringing a standard stroller with you.

Another tip I have for you is consider using a backpack instead of a diaper bag.  Backpacks can hold anything a diaper bag or purse can, but are so much easier to carry on your back when you are loading with your child onto the transportation system or attraction.

Have a wonderful visit Stacey!  Please come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with any more vacation planning questions that you have.  We love to help!

    Blessings,
