I'm a single mom planning on bringing my 12 and 7 year old on Halloween and staying in Orlando until November 6th or so. I know my son(12) is going to want to go on rides my daughter(7) can't or won't go on. Is there anyone in a similar situation?

Hello Lorraine!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Mom´s Panel.

That is a great week to visit Walt Disney World, and enjoy great weather and crowds and Mickey´s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.  If you stay up to November 9, you will also be able to enjoy Mickey´s Very Merry Christmas Party.  Visiting both parties during one trip is on my family´s wish list.

For those attractions your daughter will not ride, even after waiting in line, you can let your son ride alone and you both wait at the exit.
You can also use Disney´s Rider Switch, where you can switch with your son after his ride - he will look after his sister while you enjoy the ride.  I recommend that both riders use Disney´s FastPass Service, as the wait will be way shorter.

I am sure your family will have a great time and figure out the best way to enjoy all the rides and events.

I also recommend that you get familiar with all rides and events, so that you can make better decisions while at the parks.

Thank you for visiting the panel and letting us help you plan a magical Disney vacation.
Hope to hear again from you.
