Kids on attraction

I'm a single mom of 2 children (10 and 6). I am planning to take them to Disney World this fall, but read that children under 14 must board the rides with someone over 14 years old. I cannot split myself into 2, so how do I resolve this issue?

    Hi Laura!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so excited to hEAR you will be visiting Walt Disney World Resort in the fall!

As a mom of four children which includes a set of twin boys, I have often found myself riding alone with just two of my Mouseketeers. With varying ages and interests, my husband and I often use the "divide and conquer" strategy when visiting with our children. Many of the thrill attractions feature ride vehicles in which riders sit side by side. When riding thrill attractions with this configuration, I always let the twins sit together, and I sit in the ride vehicle just behind them. When my twins were smaller, we usually found that the three of us could sit together on many of the slower rides. If you find there is an attraction in which you must sit in an entirely separate ride vehicle from each other, I recommend riding alone just ahead of them, so that you will be waiting for your kiddos at the exit of the attraction. Although my twins are now just 13-years-old, they have almost always wanted to sit together on rides even when they were much younger. Because I've always entered the queue with the twins and ridden in the ride vehicle just ahead or behind them, we have never encountered any issues when doing so as long as they met the minimum height requirement for that attraction.
