I'm a single mom . 15 y/o &14, w/ Autism, ADHD, anxiety disorder & sensory integration disorder. I would like to start planning a trip for my family but it also includes my father, his wife and a 16 y/o 13y/o. parents have bad knees. advice?

    Hello S!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I hope you are having a magical week!

The first stop in your planning would be to read about the Disability Access Service Card. Once at the parks, stop by Guest Relations as soon as you arrive to inquire about the Disability Access Service. The cast members are trained to give great information and can provide information and ideas on what accommodations you may need. Different attractions have different queues so while one may be fine for you to wait in, another might not work out as well.

The Disability Access Service will allow you to get a return time for an attraction so you can rest/sit/etc until the time stated. You then go to the FASTPASS entrance and show them your ticket that has the return time programmed on it. You don’t have to use it for all rides, just those that might be difficult with standing for long periods of time.

I also highly recommend a set of noise cancelling headphones such as the Peltor brand ones. My youngest is autistic and he gets overwhelmed with crowds easily. The headphones have really helped him block out the buzz of the crowd, but he can still hear us talking to him, etc.

I hope this helps and please let me know if you need anything else as you plan your visit!

    See you real soon!
