I'm single and 50. I'm traveling alone this visit and am looking for some suggestions of lodging, tickets and dining for just 1-person. Money is a little tite but not real tite. Interested in the stories and information on the parks and sites mostly.

    Hi Russell,

I have had a few opportunities to travel to Walt Disney World by myself and those trips were simply delightful.  There's something magical about being able to explore this enchanting destination solo.  You can stay where you want, dine where you want, and follow wherever the magic leads you.

Based on the information you provided in your question, I would select a Disney resort in the moderate category.  If you like the idea of a quaint, New Orleans-themed resort, select Disney's Port Orleans Resort French Quarter.  If large and tropical is a better fit for your tastes, then Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is an excellent choice.

If you're interested in the stories behind the Disney theme parks, definitely consider signing up for one of the amazing behind-the-scenes tours that are available to guests 16 and older.  These tours provide an especially welcoming environment for solo travelers.  Definitely try the Segway tours.  I've done them twice and they were simply incredible!

Tell me a little about the kind of food you enjoy, Russell.  Once I know a bit more about your culinary preferences, I'll be able to make more specific dining suggestions.  Simply post your follow-up question here.

As for ticket options, I think a basic Magic Your Way theme park ticket (which permits admission to one theme park per day) is adequate, particularly if this is your first trip to Walt Disney World. There are plenty of activities to fill a day with fun in each Disney theme park.

Have an amazing trip to Walt Disney World, Russell!  Let the magic begin...
