Melissa from MN Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I'm seeing mixed answers to this so thought I'd check with the experts :) Are we still able to make room-only reservations at WDW 499 days in advance? Looking forward to a vacation in early 2027 and ready to start the countdown!

Welcome back to planDisney, Melissa! Thanks so much for coming to us with your question today. Let me just say, it's so exciting that you're already looking ahead to a 2027 Walt Disney World vacation. That kind of planning energy is exactly what we love to see, and I don't blame you one bit for wanting to start that countdown!

To clear things up: all Walt Disney World reservations, whether they're part of a vacation package or a room-only booking, open at the same time each year. That means that the old system of booking a room-only reservation 499 days in advance is no longer in use. Instead, booking windows for all 2027 vacations will likely open in the spring of 2026. So hang tight for about a year, and you'll be all set to lock in that magical getaway!

In the meantime, it's never too early to start dreaming and planning. There are lots of fun things you can start thinking about now to help shape your perfect Disney experience:

Which resort is right for you? Do you love the relaxing vibe of a Disney Resort with lots of greenery, like Port Orleans - Riverside? Or do you want to be steps from the magic at a monorail resort like the Grand Floridian?

What's on your dining wishlist? Think about whether character dining, signature meals, or classic snacks like Dole Whip and Mickey Pretzels are on your must-do list.

What's coming up that you'll get to experience? Disney World is always growing and evolving, so check out the Disney Parks Blog for information about everything coming your way before 2027.

I hope this answers your question, Melissa, and please keep dreaming and planning, and we'll be here cheering you on every step of the way!
