I’m a season pass holder why this time does the pictures linked in my account have photo pass written on them and making me purchase

    Hiya, Kristen! Welcome to planDisney!

One of the best parts of a perfect Disneyland day is capturing those magical moments, and as a Magic Key holder, you know just how special those memories can be. Since your photos are appearing differently in your account, let’s take a closer look at what might be going on behind the pixie dust.

Unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital downloads are one of the perks included with the Believe Key and Inspire Key passes. If you previously had one of these pass types but changed your Magic Key when you renewed, for example, this benefit may not be included with your current pass. That could explain why your photos are now showing a PhotoPass watermark and prompting a purchase.

Another thing to double-check is that you’re signed into the same MyDisney account that you used to purchase your Magic Key pass. Sometimes, if a pass is linked to multiple accounts, the benefits don’t always carry over. I actually learned this first-hand when helping a family member whose Magic Key was purchased in my account. Although his Disneyland mobile app showed the pass, the perks weren’t available until we stopped by a main entrance ticket booth and a helpful Cast Member transferred the pass ownership into his account. After that, everything worked perfectly—including dining and merchandise discounts!

If you haven’t changed your pass type and you do have the Believe Key or Inspire Key, I recommend calling the Magic Key holder line. A friendly Cast Member will be able to take a closer look at your account and help make sure your PhotoPass perks are working exactly as they should.

Now, Kristen, before you go, I’d love to share two more tips with you. First, for the latest Magic Key news and extras, visit the Magic Key Portal in the app—it’s the best place to see current announcements and special experiences. And lastly, while we’re on the subject of PhotoPass, don’t forget about Magic Shots! When you spot a Disney PhotoPass photographer, ask if they’re offering any Magic Shots—those playful surprises that add characters or effects to your picture. Options can vary by location and season, so it never hurts to ask a Cast Member to apply a Magic Shot to your next photo.

Kristen, here’s wishing you many more magical memories captured at the Happiest Place on Earth—without any watermarks in sight!
