I'm scheduled for a trip in March staying at Pop Century! Now that Park Hopper tickets are back, can I ride the Skyliner to Epcot and walk through to get to the Monorail to Magic Kingdom?

Hello, Amanda! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. I know you've got to be getting so excited about your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World. My daughter's birthday is in March and we always seem to find ourselves at Walt Disney World to celebrate so I can tell you that you've picked an excellent time to go.

Isn't it exciting that park hopping has officially returned to Walt Disney World? I have missed being able to go to Magic Kingdom in the morning and then popping over to Epcot in the evening for a bite to eat. That is truly my perfect Disney day and I am so glad it's back. Park hopping does look a little bit different right now.

    It's currently working like this:
    • You must make a theme park reservation for your first park of the day with valid park hopper tickets attached to your MyDisneyExperience account
    • On the day of your reservation, you must scan into the park you've made a reservation for
    • Park hopping officially begins at 2:00 p.m. but is subject to park capacity limitations
So "technically", you could make Epcot your first park of the day and ride the Disney Skyliner there from Disney's Pop Century Resort. Then, at 2:00 p.m you could head over to Magic Kingdom Park for the rest of the day. However, currently, the monorail running from Epcot has been suspended with no date of reopening announced. So that wouldn't work for you either. If Epcot is your first park of the day and then you plan to hop on over to Magic Kingdom Park you will find complimentary park-to-park bus transportation at this time. So you'll just need to exit Epcot through Future World and then follow the signs for the bus over to Magic Kingdom Theme Park.

If you want Magic Kingdom Park to be your first park of the day, you'll need to make a park pass reservation. To get there, your best bet is to take the complimentary bus from Disney's Pop Century Resort. Buses start running anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour prior to that specific park's opening time.

Don't fret though because you'll have plenty of opportunities to fly high in the sky with the Disney Skyliner. From Disney's Pop Century Resort, you'll be able to use this form of transportation to get to Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot. I also think it's a lot of fun to check out other Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. On the Disney Skyliner you'll be able to get to Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Art of Animation Resort and Disney's Riviera Resort. If you get hungry while looking around, I'd recommend stopping at Disney's Riviera Resort and grabbing a croque monsieur from Primo Piatto, the quick service resort on property. I've had several of them and they are so delicious.

I hope this helps plan your itinerary a little bit easier, Amanda. If you have any other questions before your trip, I'd love for you to come back and ask.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
