I’m scheduled to go to Disney is 1/8/2022 (celebrating w/ my sister for her b-day). I accidentally booked for Disneyland and I would prefer to go to California adventure all day. How do I switch without losing a reservation altogether?

Hi there, Nadia. Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for taking the time to visit us with your question.

I’m delighted to see you’re planning a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth in early January to celebrate your sister’s birthday! Although Christmas and New Year’s will have already passed by the time you visit, “Holidays at the Disneyland Resort” will still be happening through January 9th, 2022. This means you’ll still have the opportunity to enjoy holiday overlay on select attractions, as well as marvel at the festive decorations throughout the parks!

If you wish to switch your park reservation from one park to another, you can definitely do so, provided that spots are still available. Before you change your reservation, please be sure to check out the Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar to see if the park you wish to visit is available on the day you’re visiting with your sister. I just took a peek at the Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar and at this time, and both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park are available.

In order to switch parks, you’ll first need to cancel your current park reservation. Then, return to the “Theme Park Tickets & Reservations” page and under “If you’ve already purchased a ticket:”, click on “Make Park Reservations”. Pick the date and new park you wish to visit and confirm your selections. Once your new park reservation is processed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a new QR code. (Please note: theme park reservations are limited, so be sure to make your theme park reservations as soon as possible!)

I hope this information is helpful for you. Please don’t hesitate to write us again if you have more trip-planning questions. Be sure to visit Disneyland.com or Disney Parks Blog for the latest park news!

P.S. Wishing your sister a magical birthday!

    See ya real soon,
    Kiki

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings from Northern California! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
